The 100 year anniversary of his birth is an opportunity to recommit ourselves to his principles and building the nation we envisioned at the start of our democracy.

THE FRAME CONTAINS
1 Oz ag 925 pure sterling silver Coin
The R50 sterling silver uncirculated collector coin was designed by Zimbabwean-born and Joburg based artist Sindiso Nyoni for SA Mint.
This coin depicts Nelson Mandela as a proud statesman. After spending 27 years in prison, Nelson Mandela was finally released on 11 February 1990 and elected deputy president of the ANC in the same year. In 1993, he shared the Nobel Peace Prize with President FW de Klerk before making history as South Africa’s first democratically-elected president, in 1994. The quote was taken from a letter he wrote to senator Douglas Lukhele whilst imprisoned.
